Question:

Has any person won individual gold for the same event in three consecutive Olympics?

I have tried Googling it but can't find any clear information.

I heard Grant Hacket was attempting to do this tomorrow for the 1500m freestyle but am unsure if he would be the first Australian to do it or first person from any country to win gold for the same event at three Olympics.

  3. Dawn Fraser did it, in the 100m freestyle in 56, 60 and 64, but Grant would be the first male swimmer.

  4. Milo from Croton won five consecutive Olympics. (Wrestling).

    I am unsure about present times, but I think so.

    Edit. Larissa Latynina won 1956 -1964 won three consecutive golds in gymnastics (floor exercise)

    Carl Lewis won four consecutive times in the long jump.

    I am sure there are more.
