  1. The Titanic was huge by the standards of its time, but many larger ships have gone down since.

The Exxon Valdez was not one of them. It only ran aground.

  2. lots of ships are bigger, titanc was just the biggest in its time period

  3. Plenty of bigger ships have sunk.

The biggest being the Atlantic Empress.

  4. Groan...

    And yes.

    Ships 'Disappear' all the time.

Wouldnt get me working on one for all the tea in china.

  5. The biggest ship actually in Davy Jones's locker is Atlantic Empress. This tanker of 128,399 GRT and 292,666 dwt went down on August 2nd 1974. She had collided with the tanker Aegean Captain near the island of Tobago. She caught fire and was towed to deep water in order to prevent oil reaching the island. She rests roughly east of Barbados in about 5,000 metres of water. She was 347.23 metres LOA. Aegean Captain also caught fire, but she remained afloat. She was, however, declared a Constructive Total Loss and was broken up.

  6. Yup ... lots of ships bigger than the Titanic have sunk... oil tankers... aircraft carriers... battleships... cargo transports of all sizes.

  7. What about the big battleships and aircraft carriers in WW2. Sure some of these were bigger,,,

  8. yes a bigger ship sank  and the waiter joke isnt very nice as loads of peopled died on that ship so its not a nice thing to say. pay more respect  when you telling stupid jokes.

  9. The Exxon Valdez was bigger, not sure if it was the biggest though.
