  1. If you're looking for an actual waterproof camera, Kodak makes a pretty good disposable camera that takes decent shots. I don't have a case for my digital camera, so anytime I want to get some surf shots I go pick up a Kodak disposable.

To answer the second part of your question, the Kodak disposable camera has a rubber wrist band that comes with it. It's not the prettiest way to take a camera out in the water, but I just throw the strap around my neck. It's not the most comfortable, but it does keep your hands free to paddle, and it's quickly accessible to get a picture. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful??

  2. there is a camera called the GoPro Hero that has a digital and regular model.  they are both pretty small, reusable and totally waterproof/thrashable.  they have a little strap so that you can wear it on ur wrist too.  i used to hace the regular one, but it was a little to bulky to wear on the wrist while surfing, although it might have worked on a longboard.  i would just swim with it usually, but then i lost it at a party.  the new digital ones are really small though.  they're $80 and take a couple hundred good pics per card.  check their site.  http://goprocamera.com/

There is also a camera called the Pentax Optio W20.  http://www.h20camera.com/home  My buddy has it and wears it on a neck strap under his suit kinda high on his chest so that it doesn't hit his board.  he takes it out and snaps great pictures with it.  it takes video too.  heres his site so you can check out the quality: http://www.livebettersurfoften.com/

    good luck.
