Supplementary question - has anyone finished the home and away season undefeated?

I seriously don't know and I wonder who will burst the Hawks bubble and if and when it bursts will they fall in a heap. Opinions on that?

  1. Essendon came very close in 2000, I think only losing one match (to the Doggies)

Hawks lost a few weeks ago to the Dogs.

  2. Hawks already lost. I think it had been done in the 80's not 100% sure

  3. You know the answer RC,  you sound like 'AB'. you  know your cats won something like 27 in a row, over 2 seasons,

dimmy's and chips mate, BBQ sauce, lol, i lIve like a king.

edit, now that ive finished my gouging,  i think, dont quote me on this but back in 1896, the first season of vfl, i think both teams up top were undefeated, but they didn't play the same length of time, but they were undefeated, the two teams escape my brittle mind.

also essendon almost done it, remember that, it was big news, some one beat them,  they were after geelongs record, and they were arguing if geelongs counted, because it was over two seasons in the 50's,  go look it up you lazy nanger.

bloody western bullies beat the hawks 2-3 weeks ago too, get off the red wine and stop eating microwave food R.C, it rots your brain.  I'm going to bed, night all.

    go tigers.

  4. No team has ever gone through the season undefeated.

In 2000 Essendon came close and only lost one game to the Western Bulldogs and that was very late in the season.

In 1995 I believe that Carlton only lost two games and that was to St.Kilda and Sydney.

Geelong holds the record for the most consecutive games won and that was between 1951 - 1952 I think from memory.  They won both the 51 and 52 premierships but had at least one loss inbetween.

Sorry to disappoint but the Western Bulldogs burst the Hawks bubble about two weeks ago in Tasmania by about 32 points.

  5. Yes... Essendon came close in 2000 and we looked as to maybe be the best team ever... then Brisbane came along and ruined it for them

but otherwise there hasnt been as I am aware of

  6. essondon was extremely close in 200 where thya won 21 out of 22 premiership games (a record). my i also note that it is impossible for a team to win every game of the seasonm including finals because u wuold go undefeated 22 games and be topof ladder . will qualifyinf, win preliminary and hten win grand final but there are the elimination and semi finals whicxh aer also played . just thought id add that in :)
