Aside from Alex Rodriguez's trade from Texas to Boston being rejected by Selig has any other trade been rejected? I'm still wondering how much Steinbrenner paid Selig to reject this trade.

  1. the players union rejected it not selig

and if stienbrenner paid him a dime he would be in jail right now for fraud and bribery. they rejected it because boston would have been over the salary cap

  2. The deal was that Boston did not want to take on as much of the salary as New York was later agreeable to taking on; at the time A-Rod was trying to get the players union to allow him to take a cut in pay and they would not agree to it because of the precedent that it would set.

  3. Didn't I answer this question before?

I bet Georgie gave Selig a couple TV networks or so. We didn't end up needing A-Rod to get any rings anyways.  I don't think anything else has ever been rejected though.

  4. The Players Union blocked the A-Rod to Boston trade because Arod would have reduced his salary to leave Texas to Boston.

Nice try in wanting to blame Steinbrenner.
