  1. yup ive been there for spring break 3 times! try not to go off the resort!! its unsafe and u would have to keep an eye out for ure son BIG time!! they have alot of things on the resort though PLENTY! you shouldnt even need to go off. just watch for your son because its a foreighn place and its bad enough barely any english is spoken! you should have a good time. be forwarned the pools have bars in them...MANY people have peed in the pool TRUST ME ive seen it 1000 times! and puke in the pool! dont let me scare you because some hotels are made for families and not drunk stupid kids so it depends on what resort ive been to 3!

  2. It is a beautiful place and there are lots of activities, it is safe to be in the touristic area and even going to the town is a nice experience, nobody will bother you they live from tourists and they respect you and try to help, I recomend a visit to Plaza Caracol if you want to do some shopping, remember this is a duty free zone and you can find good prices in European goods. A tour in the lagoon in jet sky will be a great experience for your kid, also there is a pirate ship sunset tour but mainly enjoy the beautiful beaches. If yo can spare a day go to Chichen Itza in a tour that will pick you up  and leave you in your hotel, it is great to visit the pyramids.

  3. Go to the ruins like Tulum its so much fun! My family and I went the year before and went back last year because we had so much fun! Swimming with the dolphins is lots of fun too! And I am a total beach lover so if you and/or your family loves beaches then you need  to spend time on the beach. We also stayed at a hotel that had lots of things to do I recommend the Palace Resorts. Especially Moon Palace. Its a little ways from the air port and they have lots of activities to do. I think if you never left the hotel their for the whole week you still wouldn't be bored! At the Moon Palace they have their own private beach and a huge swimming pool. They also have mini golf and they have a sports spot where you can play about any sport like tennis or basketball. You can rent bikes to take on the trail there. And the food there is very American but they also have a traditional Mexican restaurant at the hotel and an Italian one. So as you can see I highly recommend this hotel. But at your hotel they will have lots of ideas for you!

  4. You should take your son swimming with the dolphins

  5. Cancun is very nice (as long as hurricanes don't hit like a few years ago).  I took a boat ride to Isla Miheras to look for women (isle of women in Spanish), but didn't have too much luck.  Chichen Itza was very neat and I like the ancient Mayan stuff.  Just stay away from drinking any water outside of the tourist area and that includes ice used in mixed drinks.  Montezuma's Revenge isn't a fun thing to have!

  6. Enjoy the beach, great water, go snorkleing...so much to do!  I went with 6 other gals and we had a blast.

  8. I am an American living in Cancun. The warnings not to leave your resort are  incorrect!!! You will be missing a lot of fun if you stay locked up in your resort.

Outside the hotel area you can trust the ice...however don't drink the tap water. All ice is made with purified water

Most hotels have children's activities and children swimming areas with staff to watch them.

Want a inexpensive authentic Mexican meal in downtown? Try El Tacolote on Coba (the cab drivers know the place). They have menus in English or Spanish. We have never been disappointed with our meal there. They offer entertainment everyday except Tuesday.

If you are offered a timeshare tour at the Royal Sands Resort...accept it. It is a beautiful place...nice gifts and no pressure to buy. It will take about 3 hours of your time.

Xcaret (Is-carr-et) or Xel-Ha (shell - ha) are great  tours. The tour of Isla Mujeres (is-la moo-hair-is) is a ferry ride /tour with lunch, shopping and swimming / snorkeling.

Use your common sense (as you would in your own home town) and have a wonderful vacation!
