Has anybody been to Allegro Playa Dorada resort in DR? what was it like? tell me everything you know..?

What was your experince. did you like it? did you like the rooms?, is there different stuff to do? Did you like the BEACH? I want to know about the Beach..

Allegro Playa Dorada is a reasonable good hotel (3 1/2*)

and the food is acceptable. The beach? This is the biggest beach in the Dominican Republic. If you want to discover the country, this is the place to be. But don't buy any excursions from your rep. My brother and his new wife just went to the DR on their honeymoon...I m not sure which resort they stayed in but he said the trip was awful...The food was nasty, they ate fruit and nothing else for 5 days, the hospitality was non-existant...But he did say the water and the beach were amazing!

I  ALSO  SPENT  A  LITTLE  TIME  WORKING THERE ,    ,  AND  STILL  HAVE  A  FEW  AMIGOS  WHO  WORK  THERE  .     THOUGH  TRADITIONALLY   KNOWN  AS  ONE  OF  THE  BETTER  RESORTS  IN  PLAYA  DORADA  ,  IN  THE  NAME  OF  COST  CUTTING , ALLEGRO  IS  NOW   UNDER  NEW  OWNERSHIP . ..  BUT  AS  YOU  MIGHT  EXPECT,  NOT  WITHOUT  COMPROMISING QUALITY.   GUESTS  CAN  STILL EXPECT  A  3 STAR  EXPERIENCE  AT  BEST  AND IM  BEING   VERY   GENEROUS  AS  WELL  AS  UNBIASED .   IF  YOUR  A  POOL  POTATO  AND  HATE  GOING  ANYWHERE,  PLAYA DORADA  WILL  GIVE  YOU  WHAT  YOU  PAY  FOR  .   ( A LITTLE  FOR A LITTLE ).   IN  SHORT,  COLUMBUS  TOMB  SOUNDS LIKE  A   BOWLIN  ALLEY  COMPARED  TO  THIS  PLACE. ........ AS  FAR  AS  THE   BEACHES  GO  ? .........  PERSONALLY, ANY  BEACH   IN  THE  D.R  IS  BETTER  THAN  A  BEACH  AT  THE  JERSEY  SHORE  ,  BUT  IF  YOUR  A  TRUE  LOVER  OF  NATURALLY  BEAUTIFUL  BEACHES ,  YOU  WILL  BE  DISSAPOINTED ..  AND  SHOULD  PLAN  AN  EXCURSION  TO  SAMANA  IF  YOU  WANT   TO  EXPERIENCE   SOME  OF  THE  BEST.  ONE  CAN  DEFINITLY   FIND  A  BETTER  HOME  BASE  FOR  EXPLORING  THE  BEST  OF  THE  NORTH  COAST  AND   WHILE  PLAYA DORADA   DOES  SERVE  ATLEAST  THIS  PURPOSE,     IT  WILL  NEVER  MAKE  BAILARINS  10  BEST  LIST  .   BUT   HEY,  WHAT  THE  h**l  DO  I  KNOW  ABOUT  ANYTHING  ?
