Question:

Has anybody been to Hudhuranfushi in the Maldives?

Our friends would like us to join them in April, I have a 6 month old and 3 year old. They enjoy surfing, that is why they have chosen this Island. Judging by my childrens ages, is it worth the stress of the 11 hour flight, to go there.

  2. Hey There

The Huduranfushi island has recently been renamed Lohifushi and does have some facilities for children, you can check out the link below for further details.

The main thing is that you have the right clothing for your children and some of their favourite things from home.

I've seen babies to teenagers in the Maldives and your 3 year old will love the sand and will love paddling, your 6 month old will just love being with you. Lohifushi (Huduranfushi)doesn't have a baby-sitting service so be aware of that but otherwise as long as you have enough paints and games for your 3 year old then you'll be fine... you just need to make sure that you'd enjoy being there too!

Oh and one more thing, there is a children's pool on the island and the Maldives people - as we've witnessed - just love children (including babies!) and seem to be pretty hands on with spending time with them; especially at meals!

    Hope that helps

    Chaz

  3. Hi there

Well first of all my wife and I have only been the once, we plan to go back again very soon.

The Maldives and the people are amazing, paradise on earth.  Amazing beaches, warm and gentle water, in fact nothing to complain about at all.

I dont know your island, however the one we went to would be a little boring for children, not a lot to do.  The other factor to consider with the children is the heat, its extreamly hot and very sunny...  be careful.  In addition even the sand is hot to walk on so they will need footwear and also my wife says get the all in one swimsuits to protect them.

Due to the heat make sure you get air con for your bedroom, that way the children will sleep better - and you!

Take lightweight clothing and not much of it, we wore only T shirts and short for two weeks.

The flight usually stops over in the Middle East but bear in mind the flight time covers UK to Dubai, Dubai to Mali.  From thier you then take a seaplane flight to your island, you will be travelling for over 15 hours plus.

Good luck and if you want to ask questions please feel free
