  1. I went there in August!

We did only fly there though and then went to Cangas about an hour away as we were going to a wedding.

It was really nice.  It's really 'Spanish' there, not like the Costas.  Hardly anyone speaks English so make sure you have a phrase book with you at all times!  I would definitely go back again.  Best place in Spain I've ever been to.

The people were really friendly and patient and I think they think it's odd to have English there and is a bit of a novelty (although looking at your name I guess you are Spanish?).  The shops and restaurants are cheap too.  If you get chance, go to the islands.  I can't remember what they are called but they are a national park.  You can camp there but there are no cars there.  It's really beautiful.

When we went it was baking! But it was August!  We were there when all the forest fires started and it was coming down the hill where we were staying!

  2. It is cold in the winter up there, and rains a lot then.

I think the people in the north are not as open and outgoing as you will find on the southern and east coasts, but in my experience, Spaniards are always friendly and social.

  3. santiago de compostela is really lovely. i arrived there having walking the camino de santiago, a 750mk walk across northern spain. so if you have a month spare something to think about... santiago has great restaurants, shops and the people are really friendly.

  4. Answer to your first question: Every place on the earth must have been inhabited by somebody. therefore the answer is yes.

Answer to the second question: "Sometimes" is always a valid answer for every location.

Answer to the third question: Some are nice and some are not.
