I was looking for a used car on Dallas craiglist and once I came across a fantastic car deal (Lexus ES300) only for $2930. At the first glance I became very excited and went crazy for this car and some how wanted to buy it. I email the seller to ask for a test drive and he said the car is not in Dallas but in Rhode Island. I was little confused at this moment but my crazyness behind the deal drove me and I emailed him again and again to get more details. He said he was an army person and had too little time to visit home and so he wanted to sell his car for so cheap price. He introduced me to Pivotal payments for transfer of funds. Though I was crazy for this deal, but still I wanted to find out if there are no threats.... I googled Pivotal payments and came across a link to yahoo answers. I found out this was a big scam and was going to become a fool very soon. Never look at such deals. Everything in this world has some value. No body would like to sell a 2002 Lexus ES300 for $2930!!

You are not the first person asking about this ARMY person selling his car.

    Different year but same deal.

Anybody can take their car to a used car dealer and get at least 80% of the book value in 5 minutes.  So why go through all this trouble and sell it privately?

    BECAUSE it is a scam.

    good Luck...

  2. Every day.

Craigslist is full of scams.  Any time you see a car underpriced and seems to be a huge bargain, it's a rip off.  Craigslist is free so the thieves don't have to spend a nickel to phish for victims.
