  1. Lots of quantity, but quality is inconsistent and iffy at times.  Not the best quality sushi, but that's what you get at all you can eat places (which I still love).

  2. When I first discovered Todai several years ago, I thought it was an interesting concept. There was a huge selection of cooked foods as well as sushi and one location I visited even offered ramen. I visited their restaurants in Daly City, Pleasanton and Concord, California.

After about eight or nine meals meals, it seemed that the food quality began slipping while the prices moved upward. While the selection was still quite impressive in the sense of quantity, the quality just wasn't there. I would much rather have a few good choices than a lot of mediocre ones.

Greasy, overcooked seafood is not something that I want to pay for. Nor do I enjoy scrawny slivers of fish on large blobs of rice. That is not sushi!

So, to answer your question, do I think the cost is worth what you get at Todai? I'm afraid that I'm going to have to say no. But if you enjoy the experience, by all means, bon appetit!

  3. It's very expensive and I'm allergic to seafood. My Japanese friends loved it though...
