Has anybody else bought any "carbon credits"?

Question

I just spent $169.00 to offset the gas guzzeling Jaguar I own (12 miles per gallon). So now i feel rather smug and envronmentely friendly compared to those people that drive hybrids.

I went to GIM, Al Gores' company and did the math. For $169.00 I can drive for 75,000 miles and still be NEGETIVE polluting!

I went to terrapass.com and offset my car and air travel, and that cost me $50. I drive a small Kia Rio that gets 28 mpg. To offset my Jeep and my house it would have been additional $238.00 - which I would have done, but I couldn't afford it. I feel good that I did my car though.

nope....Al Gore is even more of a genius than Michael Moore but my credit card is maxed out and my moped doesn't polute our enviroment as much as your cat seems to.

My old pickup truck gets about 8 miles to the gallon. What oil it doesn't burn leaks on the ground. I was going to buy a new, more efficient truck, but what the h**l? For $200 in carbon credits, I can drive this old beater for another 5 years and feel good about it.
