I've heard there are major roadworks just outside the airport and I'm wondering if this will affect me when I return to catch my flight.

  1. yeah i was delayed for a couple of hours but they give you meal ouchers and its really cool

  2. we came back in April no pr obs at all

  3. Malaga airport is a nightmare at the moment, allow lots of extra time

  4. It IS in Spain, so you can always expect delays.

  5. The whole of Malaga Airport is being rebuilt!  They now have organised chaos instead of total chaos. Allow a little longer to get into the Airport, once you approach the Departures area (upstairs) you will be directed to a car park (left hand lane) or into a queues, where if you are being dropped off by someone, they allow you time to unload!  If you have hired a car, the drop off is now on the ground floor of the original Car park.Let me know if you need further help.

  6. An escaped monkey was on the runway, so the flight was delayed.

  7. i had a serious delay 4 yrs ago.i went on a make or break holiday with my ex. 3 days into the hol it wasn't working so we flipped a coin to see who would stay and who would go home.i won and stayed.anyway i went on a bit of a bender and blew all my money.she had told me what time my flight was but when i turned up to malaga airport i found out she had lied and i missed my flight. i was hungry thirsty and skint.managed to keep my cool and got my wonderful grandfather to bail me out with a flight on his credit card.....22 hours later!!  i know this doesnt help you but i couldnt resist reliving that torturous day!!

  8. There is major work going on all around the airport...Count an extra half hour, just in case.

They are remodeling the whole area...hopefully it will be the most modern, wonderful airport in Europe when they finish... But right now it is absolute chaos. You'll be ok if you go to the airport by taxi, they are allowed to drop you off right by the doors... Or If you go by train (it runs between Malaga and Fuengirola)You have a stop just across the road from the airport...you just have to cross over on the bridge, about a 5 min. walk. If your luggage isn't too heavy you are fine. There is also a bus line that runs from the airport to Malaga, and another line from the airport to Marbella bus station (with stops along the way). They run both ways. The one along the coast at half hour intervals. If you are on an organised trip, the travel agency will take you back to the airport by coach, they also have priority and drop you off right in front.

Have a nice stay on la Costa del Sol!
