I am thinking about getting an alpine CDA-9885 car cd receiver. I dont know if i should pay the full price of $249.99 or get it from the outlet. Crutchfield says there outlet item are returned products from their customers. I was just wanted to hear from somebody that bought something from crutchfields outler store. Was the item like new?

  1. Buy from www.sonicelectronix.com that is the best website ever i love it

  2. You're taking a chance.  Crutchfield gives examples of something that might be found in the outlet store, but with a CD H/U, I wouldn't risk it.  You would be pretty ticked if you got a face with a scratch on it for instance.  Things that are not so visually important like an amp, or a sub enclosure might be worth a go, but for a head unit, I'd just pay the full price to get one brand new.

  3. something i read about SE that helped me.

"crutchfield is an authorized dealer of EVERYTHING it sells, whereas sonicelectronix is what we call a trans shipper. They buy from authorized dealers and don't have to sell at a minimum price, as they don't have a contract with the manufacturers. trans shippers are the worst thing to ever happen to our industry. Please do not support them. They offer no warranty, and drive the REAL shops out of buisiness. they are only in it for the money and don't care if it works or not. spend the extra money, get a warranty and a guarantee of satisfaction. Trust me, it will be worth it in the end."

I went with crutchfield and their customer service was great!

  4. I recently bought a radio from their outlet store. It was in perfect condition.
