Has anybody ever died or been seriously injured in the UFC?

i just wanted to know if anybody has ever died or been seriously injured while fighting in the UFC? if there has been what is his name?

No serious injuries or deaths in the UFC.  And Pat Smith did not "Crack Scott Morris's head open"  There have been a couple deaths in some smaller promotions, but they resulted from pre-existing illnesses/injuries, and should not have been fighting to begin with.

Ultimately it will happen though as it does with any combat, or physically violent sport.

In Ufc 2, when there was very few rules - Patrick Smith (kickboxer) Cracked open the skull of a fighter practicing Ninjitsu. If he didn't crack his skull open, he certainly hurt his skull very bad - it was bleeding heavily.

Sean Salmon by Rashad Evans at a Fight Night event. I was there, I'll never forget, a kick to the head, Sean went down like a mattress. He was hospitalized, but nothing serious. It was a pretty knockout though!

other than lost teeth (teuila teli-big fat sumo guy)

broken nose (rich fraklin)

broken arm(tim sylvia etc. etc..

there hasnt been anything worth mentioning

some guys have gone for cat scans though(nate quarry ??)

I would say that Heath Herring was seriously injured last night at the hands of Brock Lesnar.  Herring's face looked like raw hamburger after the fight and he will most likely be pissing blood today.  That's serious.
