  1. OMG! Are you Physic?

I am an Adult, and I have 'Lazy Eye'

My Right Eye is turned almost completely toward my nose. My Ophthalmologist told me I was too old for the Surgery. I asked her about blinding the good eye, she said no, as I would lose my depth perception. She also told me my Brain had already compensated for the defect. She also told me over time, my left eye will become the 'Lazy Eye'

  2. When I was a kid I had an extremely lazy eye.  I didn't have to wear a patch, but my optometrist gave me prisms that I had to use to do different focusing exercises a couple of times per day.  I think it was to strengthen the muscles.

I'm the same age as your son, and fortunately my 'lazy' eye was corrected for the most part.  It does become more pronounced when I'm tired or stressed out, but glasses help during those times.  The only person that has really noticed it lately is my sister (but she find fault with everything!)

It might be worthwhile for your son to talk to his optometrist about something like this, it's a pretty simple solution.
