  1. Australian Quinten Hann was known to just blast the pack of reds with his break offs.

He never managed to pot from the break tho.

However, must people see this technique as dangerous because it leaves your opponent usually with a easy opening red, plus many players see it as unsporting.

  2. Oh yes indeed, many times. Not sure about the World Championship, although it's possible as it's been played for a long time, even before it moved to the Crucible in Sheffield, although it's usually more luck than judgement! :)

We once had Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins in an exhibition match in Eastbourne where Alex did precisely that - usually in exhibitions he liked to split the reds up as much as possible, in order to try to open up big breaks to please the crowd. Anyway in this game he fluked a red then went on to make a total clearance break of 134 (if memory serves me correctly) in about 4 minutes - amazing. But then he was an amazing player in his heyday. :)

  3. many many times..players smashthe pack from behind and balls have gone in.
