Has anybody had problems with Mirena birth control?

I am specifically looking for anybody who has had a poblem with their liver. I know it says not to use it if you have had liver disease, but has anybody heard of problems occuring after the IUD was inserted?

Well, I googled it, & I never ran into anything that said Mirena causing liver harm.

The only thing I've read is that women who have liver problems should consider another form of birth control

Unlike copper IUDs, Mirena contains levonorgestrel and so the women having active liver disease, liver tumor wouldn't be good candidate for Mirena. And doctor's will like to know your family's history of health- such as a liver to judge that as well.

But when in doubt, the best place to ask is a clinic, or doctor. I asked all my Mirena questions through Planned Parenthood. 1-800-230-PLAN ...That's probably your best bet
