  1. Yes been a few times - all special occasions with different family members / friends.  Each time a great experience.  The hotel and dining area has a real charm and elegance feel about it and the "taking of afternoon tea" is a delight not to be missed.  Ironic, but I don't actually drink tea, but you can have coffee, no problem!  Won't spoil the surprise with all the details, but you will be thrilled with the savoury and sweet options they bring out.... mmm want to go again!

Have also been to Clariges (oops, can't spell that) and to the former GLC building, which is now a Marriott - both were good - but you can't beat classic "Tea at the Ritz"!!

    ENJOY!

  2. Yes I went just before Christmas, I took my Nan as a gift. Although it was "nice" I really was blown away by it. Obviously at Christmas the decorations and the atmosphere were amazing. However, I was actually quite disappointed with the sandwiches and cake selection. I didn't really enjoy any of food.

It's a nice experience to have had but I wouldn't recommend you to do it.

If you want to go for afternoon tea somewhere try this website.....http://www.londontown.com/London/Top_Aft...

I liked tea at the Berkeley and the Lanesborough best. The Berkeley is a more modern affair, it really depends what you're after.

    Enjoy it wherever you go.......

  3. If you like old fashioned s****. charm then it's worth a visit !Expensive for what you get though.

However if you do like this kind of quaint old school establishment would recommend Simpsons on the Stand. Very nice.

  4. It was not that expensive. My one tip would be, do not eat brfore you go. The sandwiches and cakes are never ending. It was a unique and enjoyable experience. Lots of tourists will be there as well. Are you going for a special occassion or just as treat?

  5. I loved it, very British.

  6. Absolutely wonderful, worth every expensive penny

  7. You could sink in the carpet

  8. I took my mum there a couple of years ago www.lastminute.com do a voucher for tea for two at the Ritz's.  It was really nice very grand but not pretentious which was surprising.  Definitely worth a visit.
