Has anybody out there ever flown with Virgin Atlantic?

I'm flying to San Francisco in just under 2 weeks and I'm going with Virgin Atlantic, from Heathrow, London. Has anybody ever flown with them beofor? Were they good, bad? Any experiences?

Their economy class equivalent is a little tight - the seats are quite close together, but their "upper class" is really good.  I'd prefer to fly British Airways if I could.

Out of all the UK based airlines, Virgin Atlantic is easily the best.

The service was great, the staff were friendly... I had previously ordered a special meal which for whatever reason was not there when they served dinner... I explained it was for alergy reasons, and they couldn't help enough... I was given a dinner from first class.

I'd recommend them to anybody flying your route.
