This is an other "Golden Cage Prison Hotel" of Punta Cana I suppose?

Go to Puerto Plata ! 10x more to see and to do and not all over there is USA style it is more Colonial style!. And there is a lot more to do outside the resorts!

I recomend Puerto Plata or Sosua.

Either way though i'm sure you'l have a good stay. I loved the Dominican Republic - it is truely beautiful.

No, but my 2 best friends are in the Dominican Republic at the moment :)

My son's friend and girl friend were there in May.

They weren't very impressed. They said it was just like a westernised holiday resort with nothing of the Dominican culture to be seen. They reckoned it was Benidorm with a different name.

They feel if they go there again they will stay somewhere that has more local flavour.

Have not stayed at the Golden Holiday Village. Went to Bahia Maimon at the Riu Club Bachata. Had a fabulous two weeks. The staff are incredible - always had a smile. The resort, clean and tidy with plenty of activities both in the complex and outside too. We were treated like royalty - have nothing but praise. They have a good selection of food in the dining area, but I did not like the local dishes - too bland. Weather was very hot and humid.

Hope you have as good a time in your chosen resort as we did in ours.
