  1. Don't worry this is Mexico, not Venezuela or Bolivia! There will be no drunks, goats or chickens. And listen to Charlie, she is always right! If you travel by first class or premium service in Mexico, it will make the Greyhound service in the US look like the third world!

Mexican premium buses are all latest model Volvos or Mercedes, they are super luxurious, comfortable with lots of leg room, most have "stewardesses," food and drink service, cappuccinos, and in every seat, personal flat screens with "in-flight" movies. They will blow down the excellent (but expensive) Mexican freeways at 70 miles per hour in total luxury. (After you travel in a premium Mexican bus, you may never be able to board a Greyhound bus again!)

  2. .....take your own car...and a friend

    lol

  3. I certainly had. No problem at all. Always try to look for those first class buses (with snacks / water / coffe service), very comfortable seats and a good A/C system.

Nowadays, I prefer to travel by plane....Low Cost companies in Mexico are very popular and sometimes u can find air tickets at the same price of a bus ticket....and you get faster to your destination.

Low cost companies are: Avolar (Hub in Tijuana, so you may find a lot of routes....you just have to identify any destination with a bigger airport near to Fresnillo i.e Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Torreon, Durango, San Luis Potosi, Saltillo). www.avolar.com.mx    ,once you get there, you can rent a car, or take a bus to Fresnillo.

Another Mexican low cost companies: Volaris / Interjet / Vivaaerobus/ Alma / Click (google them).

Roads throughout Mexico are pretty safe. Just use your common sense: If you seat next to a drunk men just change your seat or notify the Bus driver (Buses may not Admit drunk people)...If you place your carry on bag in any compartiment away from your seat, dont leave jewels, wallet, money etc etc......Buses in Mexico are used by Mexican workers with lower earnings than the average, dont be afraid of them (as many travelers did thanks to the bad propaganda in the movies)...they frequently are nice people and probably they may feel more intimidated for your prescence (since some of them has very low education).....I recommend u, that if you talk a little spanish, try to keep up a good conversation and try to understand them......Little indigenous kids are very curious and certainly ther are more open to talk with strangers...you may wonder how fun they are.

I do not recommend to travel alone by car if you are a girl.....just common sense....actually I did not recommend a girl to travel alone by car outside her country.....

  4. I've taken them around Yucatan and Q.Roo.There are about 3-4 different bus lines. Take ADO or UNO. Those are the First class buses. The seats are super wide and comfortable. They show English movies. There safe to sleep in. I would not go 2nd or 3rd class! ADO and UNO coast a bit more, but it's worth it. It's definetely better than Greyhound!

Here's a site to look at for prices: https://www.ticketbus.com.mx/ticketbus/e...

  5. No, but I've taken a cab.  Bring a blindfold and a cigarette...you're going to it them.  My friend took a bus there once...the driver hit a kid on a bike.

  6. Buses in Mexico are waaay nicer than in the U.S....and safe.  Do not listen to people who make negative comments and have never taken a bus in Mexico.  There are 1st class buses. and for a little more , there are the executive or luxury buses that are even more spacious and comfortable.   You will be just fine.

  7. i've been a bus from mexico City to Guadalajar, 7 hours total..and i had no problems.

although when the bus stops for a break, and everyone gets off, make sure you keep an eye on the bus so that it doesn't leave you behind.

when you fall asleep (on the bus), just make sure you have your belongings close to you, i'd recommed riding the bus with a friend or family member that way one of you can take turns sleeping while the other watches the other's stuff.

  8. I've taken buses all over Mexico.I have never had any kind of a problem. You should be fine.Enjoy the experience.

  9. ive taken the bus all over mexico. the longest i ve been in a bus in mexico was from tijuana to jalisco, which is next to zacatecas. you should be safe. just make sure u use the restrooms when the bus stops. and ask how long your stoping for cause you dont want them to leave without you.
