Has anybody travelled by private yacht to Europe. How did you plan for Schengen Visa complications.

Specifically, what other countries did you stay in to split up your time between Schengen adn non Schengen countries. It looks hard because England is at the far end, and there is not very much in between that looks US American friendly. I of course want to get to Gibraltar before Hurricane season and stay the whole summer in France, Italy, Greece. It seems like Israel might be OK for a short trip to a non Schengen country. And maybe Turkey if it is not a Schengen country yet.

Turkey is not a schengen country and have lovely gulfs,bays, lovely weather and sea..And very reasonable prices as well. I believe it will take 6-7 days to get Gib from there ( with 13-14 kts speed).
