I read in Maxim Magazine that you can put bacon (3 strips) into a mason jar filled with vodka and store it for three weeks in a dark place. You can then strain the fat and bacon pieces out of the vodka and you are supposed to have some great tasting vodka. Anybody tried this?

  1. That sounds like a dumb idea... if it works as expected, it will basically taste like a mouth full of fat.  It would be good for a marinade or something that uses alcohol but goes on food, but I wouldn't want to drink it.

You can put interesting things in vodka, though.  Ginger, mint leaves, cinnamon, all spice... these things actually taste good!

  2. Sounds like a waste of bacon, the king of meats, to me.  You can definitely infuse vodka in that manner though, I tend to do it with onions and hot peppers though.

  3. That sounds NASTY. Life is short, try it!

  4. Have you ever tried to put two bottles of vodka in a watermelon and see what it taste like

  5. G to the ROSS!!  How much time do you have on your hands??

  6. why would you want to....if it doesn't taste good then you've ruined good bacon........
