Has anyone EVER gotten a negative on a blood pregnancy test and still been pregnant?

has it ever happened to you or someone you know??? Is it possible?? please i want answers to back up the facts about a false negative on a blood test??

any links or websites would be appreciated.

no it isnt possible if you are atleast a day late on your supposed period date. if it is negative after that time you are not preggo. blessings

Yes, it happened to me. I knew I was pregnant when I missed my period went to the doctor had a urine and blood test done. The doctor came in and said you are absoluetely NOT pregnant. I asked why haven't I started yet she said it just happens which I replied to her Not to me it doesn't 10 days later I took an EPT test and it came back positive I have a 18 month old son and they said Absolutely NOT. So if your body is telling you something different just wait a few days and test again.

Yes.  There was a book that I read during my first pregnancy that spoke of this happening.  I believe the title is something like "What to Expect When You're Expecting".

According to my neighbor that has happened to her.  But...she's bipolar...so...I don't know if it was true or she just wanted attention.

Yes, it is possible to get a false negative result.  When you take a pregnancy test, it measures a hormone called HCG.  This hormone is only produced during pregnancy,  Depending on how soon you take a taste after conception, sometimes the HCG level is not yet high enough to be detected by a test.  A blood test is much more accurate at detecting pregancy than a urine test.  Also, HCG levels are detected more easily using first morning urine.  

This hormone is also the reason that you can not experience a false positive test result.  If the hormone is present, you are pregnant.  However, there are several exceptions such as if you take hormone therapy or certain medications.
