  1. Tae kwon do is really helpful in a mugging because of it's extremely fast kicking techniques, and so is Kung fu (tai chi, or wing chun)  :)

  2. yeah it's not perfect but the object in to survive and apparently i did

  3. Chuck Fcking Noris!

  4. i no a few moves but i havnt used them on ppl who tried 2 mug me or fight me etc.

  5. 3 times in my life, i'm 19.

-In an alley in the streets of Paris(i was walking along the canal, 3 people with bats waiting for me on the other end of this bridge)

-Fight after school by a bully who wouldn't stop pushing me around(not physically)

-Helping a friend out  during a fight

I didn't get my *** kicked in any of these fights.

    MA:Tae Kwon Do

  6. Once in particular, only to protect myself and subdue someone. Many years ago now.

it was purely defensive, no offensive moves whatsoever.

  7. I have never defended myself with my Martial Arts training and I hope I never will.  I always use my head first and look for a peaceful solution.

  8. Yeah, I kicked a girl in the face, and she fell..

I use martial arts mostly to avoid fights.. But sometimes they still happen.. Normally I am the winner.. MArtial arts is great

  9. Yup...

Didn't have to use very much because it scared 'em all off.

People who practice a martial art usually don't get into "fights."

It is a tool for self defense

  10. I did Shokokia Karate and was hit outside a pub once... i beat the guy using only moves i learnt at Karate

  11. After 14 years of law enforcement in a top 5 highest crime rate city. Yes and then some. I can't stress enough how important my martial arts training has proven it self over and over. I've been training for over 16 years. In Kenpo for 4 years and Hapkido to the present time.

  12. On the streets of battle, yes.  In the Army I used my Krav Maga training extensively as battle was frequently very close quarters and we tried for minimal collateral damage.  In South Africa I had to defend my self against a couple of drunk Afrikaners, but hey such is life.

In America, no..I have lived in the Northeast for many years without incident.

  13. Yea i have used these techniques in combat through an attempted jumping by some kids in my school. I actually managed to keep the 3 attackers at bay and eventually made them give up and go home

  14. martial=war

    art=study or method

Everybody knows a "martial art" or a method of fighting. It is just that some of us have spent significant parts of our lives studying how to become better at a particular method of fighting. I'm a soldier and I've certainly used my training in the military, if that is what you are asking. Military training itself is a martial art. I'm unsure what your question was, but I hope this helped.

  15. A friend of mine has used it twice. Once in his place of business to detain a shoplifter who thought he could fight his way out. Another time he and his wife were at a club and someone tried to detain them in a parking lot at knife point. Both perpetrators were detained by him for the police. A student of ours was able to fight off a rapist in Philadelphia. She was able to provide the Police with a good description and a good skin sample.;) This guy was a serial rapiest and was eventualy put away.

  16. used my knowledge of aikido a few times to defend myself.

twice with little ill effect to the opponent

last time was not so good for the attackers, and ended up with me nearly getting charged with using excessive force.

Be careful with what you know, the cops are not always as forgiving as any body else.

  17. I use my arts to avoid a fight.

  18. Yes many times in the past my own blend and adaptation of Japanese Jiu-jitsu and Boxing of which I'm not proud off and hope never to use again unless mine or loved ones lives are placed in danger.

    Best wishes :)***
