I have no problems with the "party crowds" or the drivers or the food. I am going at the end of Oct. when there are no spring breakers, my drive is short to the resort and we plan on only staying there and taking the bus once in a while. I am taking all the food and formula he will need and I am not worried about the sun. We will be using sunscreen and covering up just fine. I have been there 5 times myself and never once got bit by a bug. etc...What i am really worried about is where can I take him to let off steam. Play areas, activities, parks etc.... If anyone out there has already taken a baby to Cancun please give me some advice.

  1. my mom and dad always took us down there when we were babies, toddler, etc. we used to always go to this mcdonalds that had a huge playplace in it, ask the taxi driver where it is he'll know.

  2. We saw many babies and toddlers while in Cancun.  The local people are very baby-friendly in general.  What resort are you going to??  Ask this question on tripadvisor and I am sure someone who has been to the same resort can answer.

  3. Honestly, unless your hotel has something for kids/babies I say leave baby at home. I wouldn't bring my kid until they were 3 at the earliest. That place is not meant for the kids...it's a party city.

  4. I got married in cancun and my brother and sister in law went to the wedding w/my niece (she was only 1 year & 6 months) they also took everything they needed for my niece,  the only problem they had was @ night. she couldn't sleep! they mostly stayed in the hotel pool or beach w/her.  They didn't want to do any tours. I kind of felt bad that they only stayed around the area and pool, they did visit the aquarium in the isla. She likes fishes.  but everytime we were w/them my niece was having a good time.  We went to a dance show and thought she would cry, instead she was dancing! i think she had more fun then us!  Your hotel should have a kids pool and play areas and they should have activities for kids.  the aquarium is near the Melia Turquesa, you can't miss it (it's called la isla) it's a shopping center.  After that trip they took my niece to puerto vallarta. they said they had a great time taking her.  I hope you enjoy your vacation, oh one thing that really helped them was that they took a portable DVD player and took some of her favorite movies (that helped alot in the plane and @ night) baby einstein videos and disney movies.  you may want to email your hotel and ask what kind of activities they had for kids and if they have a kids pool, they should be able to help you and if they don't email back  ask once you arrive.  And yes no spring breakers and cancun is a party city if you want it to be. Many families take their kids and have a great time.  I am sure you will.
