I was invited, but didn't go, but a good friend of mine did. She said it was tons of fun, but she didn't think it was such a great learning experience.

Well, I was invited to go as well (numerous people are invited). My dad looked into it. As the earlier comment said, it probably would have been tons of fun, but the learning experience really isn't that great. I think, if I remember right, the invitation said something about getting talked to by someone who worked for a representative or a senator? Well, remember, that could (and most likely is) an intern or someone of the sort. Point being, it's probably not someone of great importance.
