Has anyone become pregnant while using the Mirena IUD?

Question

I got a positive test result back and I called my doc... He calmed me down but my appointment isn't for another week. I am not sure what to think or how to react... Please do not answer if you are only going to tell me how back the IUD is or if you are going to tell me about ectopic pregnancy. I know about ectopic pregnancy... I know the possible side effects... I am looking for experience... Thanks again!

My cousin got pregnant with an IUD.

Its true it came out when she was 5 months pregnant I think...

She didnt even know she was pregnant...

Yes you can fall pregnant while using mirena. There is no contraceptive that is 100% safe. Could your mirena have fallen out? It is possible.

Well, A week is a long time from now...

If you want sooner results, go to Planned Parenthood in your location.  They'll give you free pregnancy testings, where you don't have to wait forever. If the test says "no pregnancy", it's never a bad idea to get the Plan B pill (not the abortion pill). Just in case. But only if they're not opposed to the idea either.

But it kills the egg before it gets fertilize (like the week of your period). But man, I wouldn't wait a week. I'm kinda shocked that your doctor said "a week", he should've seen you more sooner.

At least the planned parenthood option will help you find out, instead of lingering around a whole week with all the fear & anxiety eating at you.
