Has anyone been asked to be in the Congressional Student Leadership Confrence (CSLC)?

Well, I got a letter in the mail saying I was selected to be in the 2008 Congressional Student Leadership Confrence (CSLC) because of my academic achievements. Now, I wanted to know if anyone has been asked to be in this. Cuz I'm not sure if this is a scam, or if this is for real.

It costs like $1,500 just to go, so I don't wanna give my money to some organazation that could just take my money and run.

So, basicaly I have a few questions.

Have you ever been to this? If yes, was it worth it, and what kinda stuff did you do?

OR- do you get these alot and think it is a scam?

It says I could meet important people, and it gives me 3 college credits. I also think it would look really good to colleges! [:

yes this is definitely a great idea, my best friend got that letter last yr and went..i believe it was in washington dc. she has tons of fun, made a lot of new friends and met the vp of the usa as well as secretary of defense. She told me that they had different activities each day to show them what it was like studyind there as well as what the actual lifestyle was like in dc.
