  1. It is, plus you can travel via "ferry" and cross the "Rio de la Plata"  the widest estuary/delta of the world!!!

    see:

    http://www.buquebus.com/BQBWeb/servlet/c...

If you fly AA (for sure other may-be) you can fly from the USA to MVD/Montevideo and make EZE/BUE Buenos Aires your stop-over (free of charge)

  2. Yes it is a great place but i recommend you to visit the entire Argentina. It has a wide range of scenaries to enjoy, great people, amazing food and more things. If you want to see turistic information about the Argentina see in http://www.e-ventoslink.com.ar You will find hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, entertainment places, shops, ballrooms and more things of Argentina. See you!

  3. Yes.......I'm uruguayan.

It's easy to reach Montevideo. You have many ways...1) crossing the Rio de la Plata by BUQUEBUS from Buenos Aires till Colonia, then from bus till Montevideo

    2) Crossing Rio de la Plata but from Buenos Aires till Montevideo

    3) By plane from Ezeiza or Aeroparque till Carrasco (uruguayan airport)

Montevideo is a small city with only 1 million  pple, but is very friendly. You have great places to go to all along the city.

Even, have good hotels, taxis arent expensives, and have a great tipical place for eating close to the port called Mercado del Puerto.

If you come to Uruguay, cant leave going there. You'll enjoy it, bcoz is very different from whatever you have seen before.

I wish you have the time to go to Punta del Este, Colonia, or even countryside in uruguay.

There are many "estancias turisticas" (touristic ranchs)

    You'll not regret coming here.

Welcome to my country in advance !!!!

  4. Yes, it's a nice place. I've been 3 times to Uruguay. In Montevideo I have always stayed in the Best Western Pedro Figari in the neighbourhood in Carrasco, a very nice place looking the sea (Rio de la Plata). I have also been to Punta del Este and Colonia de Sacramento which is the last Porotuguese settlement in America. If you are going to Argentina, you can take the Buquebus and go to Colonia straight away or go to Montevideo. It is a very nice country, with lovely landscapes and the most delicious meat I've ver had. If you go to the marketplace, go to "Donde Alberto" restaurant in the market and order the parrilla.
