  1. when i went in the army

the pay was $78 per mo

  2. What rank and are you married or not - it all makes a difference as does the state you are from - many states don't tax military earnings.

  3. i've been in 4 yrs coming this october. my take home pay is around $3,300 ... but that's including BAH and BAS. married with one dependent.

if you're living on base, you wouldn't be recieving BAH. i receive about $1,062 in BAH (stationed in FL), so minus that i would be bringing home about $2,300/mo.

my husband brings home around the same amount, give or take a few $100. although i'm just an E4/SPC ... i beat him in rank by a few months.

  4. The pay charts are before taxes. How much tax is taken out depends on what you claim, and what your state takes out, if any. Also, your pay grade makes a difference. In three years time, you probably would be anywhere from an E-1 to E-4, but could get up to E-5 (I was in an accelerated advancement program in the Navy and made E-5 in 2 years. I had to sign a 24 month extension for it, though).
