  2. I have been on several P&O Cruises and find them very enjoyable. Most people I have spoken to who have been on a cruise do recommend them and return to cruise again.

If you do get seasick then don't worry as you hardly notice it, particularly on-board larger , more modern ships. However, unfortunately you cannot control the weather just like a land based holiday.

I would recommend going to a travel agents and picking up the brochures or going to the different cruise lines websites to see which suits you best.

If you are not keen on dressing up formal then you could try Ocean Village, or if you like to dress up formal try P&O or Cunard. If you have a lot of money to spend, try Silversea or Crystal Cruises.

There are many activities to do on cruise ships, such as swimming pools, gyms, theatre shows, quizzes, bingo, casinos, spas, and the list increases as you look to larger ships.

If you research the company, time of year and destination well then you should be able to create the perfect holiday for your needs.

  3. I DO CRUISES TWICE A YEAR. IT THE BEST AND THE MOST CHEEPEST WAY TO TRAVEL THE WORLD. YOU WILL ENJOY IT. HAVE FUN AND HAPPY MARRIAGE.

  4. Cruised on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas this past April and really enjoyed it.  Beautiful ship, nice rooms, good food, very nice staff, lots of fun stuff to do, fun shops in the Royal Promenade.  We were on the 8th deck, starboard (right) side, balcony room about the middle of the ship.  The ship is very large, currently one of two of the largest ships on the seas.  The only drawback to this huge ship was, it took you forever to get from one end to the other.....the elevators took forever to stop and pick you up (my husband is disabled and stairs are a bit of a problem for him) and the lounge chairs around all the pools were being saved first thing in the morning and you could not get close to the pools to just hang out.  We did love the cantalevered jacuzzis and spent a lot of time in those.  The people we travelled with had been on the same cruise line, but on RC's smaller ships and they all felt that this ship was awesome and beautiful to behold, but would go back to the smaller ships next cruise.  My husband and I agreed.  We also sailed out of Miami and did not particularly like that.  Again, the others who had cruised before have sailed out of Port Canavarel and Port Everglades out of Ft. Lauderdale and like that much, much better.  Miami is a very large city and has very large city problems moving around in it.  The other two places are smaller towns and easier to move around in.

Our cruise took us to San Juan Puerto Rico, Phillipsburg St. Maartens and Labadee Haiti.  The weather was beautiful and warm, it rained once-during the night.  It was a 7 day cruise and I feel that 5 days would have been long enough, at least for us.

We have to finish paying for the last cruise and then we are going again....don't know where, but definitely want to go.  Go to cruisecritic.com, its a wonderful site that has critiques of cruise lines from people like you and me.  They will tell you pros and cons of all the ships, etc.

  5. ya know, there are cruise people and there are other people.  if you like being on a small city at sea...

bottomline:  if you don't think you will enjoy cruising, then it might not be ideal for a honeymoon.

we did a honeymoon (and actually got married onboard) and we enjoyed it.  but we don't like big cruise ships in particular.  the key to enjoying a cruise, though, in my opinion, is to go with friends, which is what we did (and family).

it worked out for us, but it might not be your cup of tea -- especially if they don't stay out of your hair.  our group was great; they left us alone and had fun without (and with) us.

it also depends where the cruise goes.  there are so many destinations, including Mediterrenean, Europe, Hawaii, etc.

  6. Yes YES YES.... Cruising is one of the BEST honeymoon options.  Our clients love Princess Cruises (the original Love Boat).  You will find great rates in October.  We just booked a couple out of Ft. Lauderdale.  You will like any 7 day cruise that you can go on -because those are the best ships out there.  Look for the age of the ship and the size...

  7. i have been on about 29 cruises and let me be the first to tell you they are the best.  you can relax and enjoy being with your husband. And you can get to know each other with out anyone else around( family or friends).  It is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable thing i have ever been on and i hope you enjoy it to.

  8. I have cruised on Royal Caribbean and Princess and they were both great.  There is a lot to keep you busy from entertainment, the casino, the dining, the pools and the ports.  The only thing you will miss is the intimacy of a quiet spot.  If that is what you are after for your honeymoon I recommend renting a villa on St. Thomas from McLaughlin Anderson (www.mclaughlinanderson.com).

  9. I've been on a few cruises, I enjoyed them mostly, but they don't suit everybody.

It's good being able to visit many different places in one holiday, but this isn't the main thing that you should take into consideration.

You need to think about whether you enjoy formal dinners, as these are a major part of cruising. For most nights you will be expected to dress formally, and this does not suit some people.

Also, it sounds obvious, but it's amazing how many people forget this: don't go on a cruise if you get seasick easily, it will ruin your holiday.

At night though, there is usually live entertainment or shows, and on some ships there are nightclub-style places. You can also go out on deck at any time, I've never had the experience personally, but I imagine it would be very romantic if you're there on a honeymoon.

  10. I have been on 3 cruises and we're going on our 3rd one July 6th. I have been on Royal Caribbean and Holland America and we're going on Royal Caribbean for the 3rd time in a couple of weeks. I am only 13, and turning 14 on July 7, but I would definately recommend going on a cruise. They are awesome, especially Royal Caribbean. They are amazing. Don't go on Holland America though because the average age on the ships is 70. I love Royal Caribbean though. They are the best cruise line.
