  1. It depends on the ship and you.

On every cruise I've been on including Trans-Atlantic on QM2 there have been tons of activities while at sea.

Not all of them appealed to me, and on other occasions there were multiple activities at the same time I wanted to attend...

  2. For me, they were very boring. Will never do it again.

  3. When i went on mine they were not boring, but it depends on your ship. Days at sead are rarely ever boring. If the ship is old and small they might be, but I am sure the staff will entertain you.  Days at sea are usually the best days on board.

  4. I used to work on the ships.  The cruise director organizes lots and lots of activities,  the different departments ie spa, photography dept, restraunt organizes seminars.  The ships may even get a guest speaker on board, it may be a handwriting expert or something like that.  The repositioning cruises generally market the older clientele as they have the time to spare.  The passengers are also offered a discount on the 1st cruise when the ship gets to its destiny, ie barcelona or venice etc.  The ship can get v.v.v.v.v.v rough when doing the crossing, so be sure to have some sea sick pills, just in case
