Has anyone been on an Antarctic Cruise, or one to north Greenland?

My partner and I are seriously interested in getting near to one of the Poles and have been looking at Hurtigruten's cruises either to north Greenland or Antarctic.

Has anyone been on one, or sailed with this cruise line? And what did you think of them?

  2. I specialize in adventure and unique travel and can help you with your questions about Antarctica or Greenland cruise.

Some basic things to know is that you will not be on a conventional cruise ship - they are usually explorer vessels designed for travelling in these areas.  Accommodations will be nice, but generally small, good food, and fewer passengers, all of whom will generally be sharing your interest in the destination.

You will not actually get near either of the pole since the actual  pole is quite a trek inland.  You'll make several stops to allow you to visit points of interest and the transfer will be made via a Zodiac (best described as an larger, heavy duty, rubber- bodied, open-top motorized boat).

Hope this info might get you started.  There are some great companies that can provide you with exactly the experience you're looking for.  If you'd like to discuss, please give me a call at 866-485-8175 toll free.  I'd be glad to work with you if you don't already have an agent.
