Also what is the cost for the drink card? Is this just for soft drinks? Is tea free? And I'm worried that I will have 2 uppers in my room (I have a 3 year old) is there anything I can do about that?

  1. I went on a carnival cruise I think it was the fantasy.  For a pop card it's 20-25 dollars.  They have lots of young childrens activities and a Daycare I believe.  The room sizes depend.  Some rooms are pretty decent but the inner rooms are terribly small.

Also in case you didn't know the pool is all salt water so it burns your eyes and can irritate some sensitive peoples skin.

  2. We also just booked a quad room and was told it has 1 upper, 2 singles and I assume a pull out. I did call and ask and that's what I was told. Ours is an outside room and suppose to be larger than an inside room.  We leave in August. We cruised a few months ago and the room was soooo small for 2 of us and it was also an outside room. No refrigerator( which we were told there would be) It was Elation Carnival. The drink card is 25. and is for coke products. You know you can carry on pepsi, etc. We took 8 cans of bottled water and 8 cans of pepsi and nothing was said.

    Have Fun....

  3. My first cruise was on the Fantasy.  We had an inside room for four of us.  We had two uppers.  You may be able to request a rollaway bed.  They do have those.  I did not get a drink card, but it was like $25 plus gratuity.  All of the other drinks were free except alcohol, specialty coffee (but you could get espresso and cappucino in the dining room free).  All of the juice, coffee hot and iced tea, and hot chocolate were available 24 hours a day.

  4. I haven't been on the Fantasy, but if you look up the boat on Carnival's website, then click on deck plans, they have a legend that tells you exactly what kinds of beds are in each room.  The Fantasy does have quad rooms with a double sofa bed as an option.  If you go on one of the newer boats, you can also get quad rooms with a single sofa bed and one upper.  I took a cruise on the Destiny several years ago and had a room with an upper, which had rails on it.  If the uppers on all of the ships are like this, they might be safe for your 3 year old.
