  1. Unfortunately, you've chosen Carnival's oldest ship - the Celebration.   She was built in 1987, making her almost 20 years old.  She is also considered small by today's standards at 47,262 tons and carrying just under 1500 passengers.  She is rated at 3 out of a possible 6 stars, and does 4 & 5 night cruises out of Jacksonville to Key West and the Bahamas

I'm not saying that you won't have a fun time, but if your looking for balconies or any of the other bells and whistles that you have probably seen on TV, you'll be disappointed.  Sorry to bring you this news - however, if Carnival is your "line-of-choice" and you can get down to Port Canaveral, the Sensation (1993) and the Elation (1998), sister ships at 70,367 tons, do Bahamas and Caribbean cruises.  These two ships - although no balconies, have a lot going for them.  I was on the Inspiration (a third sister ship) last year with my family and really enjoyed the cruise.  Just some food for thought!

With regard to parking at the pier, most places are in the $12-20 per day range. BUT, check-out hotels in the area that have "stay and cruise" packages, where you stay there the night before, they provide shuttle service to the pier, and they allow you to park during your entire cruise at no additional cost.  I sell a ton of those  for my clients.

    Have fun and bon voyage.

  2. Carnival cruise ships out of Jacksonville are old!!!  They only go to the Bahamas and are for 3 to 5 day trips.  For a quick get-away, they are great!
