I have read several reviews of the Magic and some make me a little nervous about the food and quality of service. When we booked this cruise a year ago I read only wonderful things about Disney cruises. So if anyone has been on one in 2008 I would love to hear about how things were for you : ) We are spending ALOT of money and I want things to be great for us. Thanks!

  1. You have no worries! My fiance and I sail on the Magic and the Wonder 3 times a year, since we are Walt Disney World Cast Members and get great rates! The quality of service is top-notch for the cruise industry! We have cruised Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Princess and by far the service is best on the Disney Fleet. The food on the Magic is definitely better than Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and in my opinion is tied with Princess. Have a great trip!

  2. My daughter & I just got back from a cruise on the Disney Wonder-we did the 7 day Land & Sea vacation with 4 days at the parks and 3 visiting Nassau and Castaway Cay.  We had a great time.  The food was so good. Our favorite for breakfast was the Cove Cafe buffet on the 9th floor.  We chose to eat on the deck overlooking the views of the water or whatever port we were docked at.  The food was plentiful and so delicious.  We did the excursion to Atlantis (Atlantis Aquaadventure) which I would skip if we went back.  It was expensive ($155.00 per person) and so not worth it. The much touted Atlantis Aquarium on Paradise Island was not at all like the pictures-the tanks were all cloudy and looked like they were in need of some TLC.  The water slides were more teenager oriented with some way too steep for the average person to even want to try.  The marina in Nassau has many shops and stores to browse in.  Once off the ship just proceed off the dock and there you are.  There is no cost at all for this excursion on your own!   Castaway Cay was the best part of the cruise.  We loved the BBQ lunch buffet which had everything from hot dogs & cheeseburgers to corn on the cob.  They also had a DJ playing favorites from Jimmy Buffett to Hannah Montana.  My daughter thought she had died and gone to heaven!  Bring your own goggles and snorkle because the fish are abundant and the snorkle vests are available to everyone at the life guard stand.  Make sure you go ashore early and claim your umbrella early with enough lounge chairs for everyone before the crowds get there!  See all of the stage shows you can-they are every night at 6:15 and again at 8:30pm depending on your dinner time that you have chosen.  We also took in a movie onborad- WALL-E was playing at the theatre.  Have a great time-you will enjoy it!
