Has anyone been on the celebrity mercury to alaska?

has anyone been on the celebrity mercury to alaska and do you know if it is good for families? i am worried that it is to adult for kids ages 15,13,11, and 8

Celebrity has excellent kids programs. There are always a ton of kids and the ship is smaller, I think that you will have an amazing time. The service is unbelievable compared to some of the others.. The Mercury just got refurbished back in April and I don't know what it looks like but I hear that it looks newer, and they were starting it on our cruise, as we were the las cruise before dry dock, and the last cruise before they went up and did alaskian cruises. I think that you would definitely enjoy Celebrity. I think that maybe instead of Alaska, unless your kids really want to go, you could maybe go on a Pacific Coastal cruise, or go to the Mexican Rivera, or even the Caribbean, if you are first time cruisers.

The kids in those ages would love cruising to Alaska.  Lots to see and do.  Just do not be too frugal and not do the excursions like float trips, eagle watching, glacier trekking.

Of course, there is one big problem and that is the Mercury.  That ship has had considerable problems with Norovirus.  That is an intestinal virus that is caused by unsanitary conditions and is easily spread by people not washing their hands after using the bathroom.  The Mercury had big outbreaks of Norovirus in the very recent past.  It is extremely uncomfortable and can ruin a vacation.

Another thing, I hope you are planning on at least 2 cabins for the family.  The cabins are about 160 sq. feet and 3 people are okay but not six.
