Has anyone been reading the "why don't you republicans and cons join the military"?

Is anyone else dumbfounded? How can anyone say the military is made up of anything but conservatives..? They make fun of the military for being right wing and redneck normally..Now they say the military is almost all liberals?? When did that happen? All because they want to use the "well if you support the war, then you should go serve." I just don't understand..Thoughts?

Research shows the biggest predictor of joining the military is socio-economic class.  

There is no proven connection between being conservative and joining the military.  So when you and the others who answer claim the military is mostly conservative because the "they love their country more" is just a load of c**p....completely baseless and all feel-good conjecture.  

As are most claims made by conservatives.

But I agree with the general principle that war supporters should join and serve. Apparently most of the war supporters don't agree, since recruitment is way down.

Edit:  Right....and there is no negative affect on the climate by pollution, and they use abortions for stem cell research, and Terri Shievo isn't brain dead, and Saddam was connected to 9/11 and had weapons of mass destruction, and evolution is a big lie, and the economy is fine, and heck of job Brownie

I didn't make up anything.  You, however, make claims that are completly baseless and there is no support for.  It is just something you WANT to believe.

It is rather silly since it's the liberals who normally refuse to do any sort of real service to the country. That phrase is usually used by the ME Generation (Gen Xers) who for the most part only give a d**n about themselves.

The "They" to which you refer is not a monolithic collectivity. Thus "they" do not need to be consistent in their positions. I cannot comment on the actual political composition of our military.

one of the biggest reasons i support our troops is because its a sacrifice I am not able to make and have nothing but respect for any man or woman who can serve there country with pride and dignity

They post this stuff else where because they know that here they'd find out the falsehoods of their beliefs. They can't handle the truth, that we have, are supporting our Troops and the War.

It's dangerous to judge our neighbors in this 'us and them' mentality. Our country has lived with differing opinions for a couple hundred years. This type of debate is inflammatory and will hurt us from the inside out. Our enemies are those on the outside of our borders who are trying to harm or destroy our freedom, not fellow countrymen with different viewpoints. There are fine, hardworking, patriotic people of all political views. We need to quit being so individually selfish and each do their part to make our country strong and united. For some, that is to join the military, but for most it is not.

They are hypocrites, Just like Rush saying drug addicts should be put in jail & the key should be thrown away, while he was a drug addict who just hadn't got caught yet....I have a son that was in the military & I am a liberal & my neighbors who are the Rush Limbaugh type did everything to make sure their son didn't go into the military. Then the guy jokes about how he did everything to stay out of the military when he was younger. ..I haven't been reading whatever it is you are referring to but I know from life experience these people do everything backwards.

A military career is today, and let's be honest and frank with no disrespect for those who choose to serve, a career for someone with few other options, little education, and a need for discipline, order, and a sense of "place".

This would seem to attract neither those of a conservative, nor a liberal mindset.

LOL, let them make the claims, but watch them threaten to sue if the military vote is counted. Everyone knows that the military is as much against Obama as blacks are for him.

Republicans will use whoever they have to to steal.

They use the religious right constantly, and deliver nothing in return

They wrap themselves in the flag and pretend to be pro-military, but deliver nothing.
