Has anyone been to Bury Market?

Have anyone been to the above market? I know its in Manchester way...

I am also interested in other markets preferably around Birmingham (West Mids areas)

I like foodie/farmers/flea markets....

I live in Bury and have been to the market for one thing or another countless times but I'm not really a regular shopper there.

It's world famous according to a banner strung up there. Something that always got me wondering... are you sure about that?

Bury is ten miles north of Manchester, very easy to get to and from on the Metrolink tram system from Manchester city centre. There are even coach trips to it!

It's quite a good market, with a wide range of goods on offer, though I,m not too sure about its credentials as a "foodie/farmers/flea maket".

Bury also has a wide range of chain and independant shops - if I want it (whatever) I can usually get it in Bury.

I also live in Bury, and I don't think the market's anything special, personally. Seen a lot better. Like the other person who answered, I'm sceptical about the "world famous" thing! They've never heard of Bury market on the other side of Manchester, never mind anywhere else.
