  1. Wonderful area.

Go see the blossoms nearby and try to get the the upper West Coast where fishing villages are plentyful and accommodation not expencive.

Try to get to the Paternoster, Langebaan, Sladannah area on your way back.

  2. It's stunning. My parents live 40 odd km from Ceres and the local hotel serves the best steaks in SA! Forget Spur!

  3. The private game resort Inverdoorn is nearby. When my mother came to visit, I took her to go on a game drive. We saw lots of animals, incl. rhinos and giraffes.

Other than that, you can go fishing, abseiling, canoeing... the list goes on.

    Check the ceres website:

under 'Tourism Info' you'll find a list of activities.

Oh, and of course you can eat lots of fruit there. ;-)

  4. I lived 10 km's from there for most of my life. Ceres is a beautiful place. In December the weather there is scorching, so pack light clothes. In Ceres, you can visit Denneoord. It's a nice place to go and picnic.

Then there is Tulbagh, about 40km's from Ceres. You have to visit Church street. Wolseley, where I lived, is 10 km's from Ceres. Not a lot happening there, though.

Worcester is about 60 km's from Ceres. It's quite a big town with all the big shops there. They also have a very big, new shopping mall there. You have to visit Kleinplasie in Worcester. There is just so much to do in Ceres and the surrounding towns, that you will have a wonderful time there and the best of all, it's still relatively safe in the 'platteland'. You can walk to the shops and you will be safe. I'm sure you are going to have a wonderful time there.
