  1. I have been to Cork, Ohio.

Great area near geneva and harpersfield Ohio. About 12 wineries nearby.

    My favorite is Harpersfield Vineyards.

  2. Nice place, can never understand a word the locals are saying though.

  3. The City is not bad,the accent is brutal !

  4. I just returned this past Saturday from a week in Cork.

It was absolutely wonderful.  Bring good walking shoes, you can spend hours walking through the streets of the city, tons of small shops, good restaurants and an extraordinary number of pubs.  Some 'must sees' include the old Cork city gaol (jail), St. Finn Barre's Cathedral, the English Market and of course, Blarney Castle, a 10 minute drive from downtown Cork.

I uploaded some pictures of the trip.  You can see them here: http://www.geocities.com/rraattbbooyy/Co...

  5. Spent 5 years studying and working in university college Cork about 10 years ago.  Was delighted to leave.  Do not want to go back.  I think there may be quite a differnece between visiting and staying.  Sometimes I have to visit the toilet but I wouldn't want to stay there.  Am I being a bit harsh?  I think west Cork is probably much nicer than the city.

  6. yeah grand city lots to do !!! might me going back in the summer so even more fun:D

  7. Yep.... Lovely little city... enjoyed it.

  8. Yes many times and every time I swore would be my last. Sorry to be so honest but if you are travelling to Ireland dont waste too much time in Cork city when there are so many other good places to visit or live, if that is why you are going there. Why did i keep going back you might ask, well it is because i believe it when other people told me it was great.  All i can say it that they must have been very drunk.

  9. Aye, have been there many times. Just another bigger City in Ireland. If you plan to see our country, try the country

  10. Cork is a very nice city indeed. I live in Dublin and wish I could live in Cork because it's smaller but more stylish.

From a city point of view, it has everything you need : shops, pubs, discos, festival, cultural stuffs...

But and that's great, you can get out of the city fast (unlike dublin) and end up in the lovely villages of the county :kinsale, rosscardery, etc... Each of these has history, friendly people and amazing scenery !!

  11. Yes Lovely City, spent some time there last year!!

  12. I am biased, I live in Cork. You must remember it is totally separate from the rest of Ireland. Hence the name, The Peoples Republic of Cork, check out their website really funny.                    It is the best city in the world.

  13. Only been twice (my fathers birth place) its a fantastic city but like most it has its bad points also (but not many). The people, like most Irish people, are very welcoming and friendly. If you go its a must to kiss the blarney stone (at blarney castle) and do it properly, upside down (the pic of my wife doing this is above my pc). Nearby Kinsale is gorgeous and has the Charles fort to visit.

There are so many other places to see i could fill pages. Lots of great pubs too..................

  14. I did not like it all, nothing special to see and do...really boring and quite dirty town
