  1. what is exactly your project for ? french history ?

Dauphiné today doesnt exist : it was seperated (after French Revolution, 1790) in 3 departments (Hautes-Alpes, Isère and Drôme) and 2 modern regions after 1982 (Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur).

so there is nothing to do today with this province, that doesnt exist for anyone.

a couple of interesting things abt this old province :

    - Dauphiné was independant before 1350. it was sold to the french king.

    - after 1350, the son of french king was usually called the "Dauphin", that is "prince of Dauphiné" (as king of England's son is prince of the Wales).

    - it's in Dauphiné that began some of the first events of the French revolution ("journée des tuiles").

    - the "au gratin style potatoes" comes from Dauphiné and is called in french "gratin dauphinois" (gratin from Dauphiné).
