I'm going to Genoa with a school group and I'd like to know what to expect when we get there. Shopping, people, food, etc.

Thanks!

  1. I was there for about an hour we stopped there for lunch on a tour. Saw the Columbus memorial. The food in Italy is generally very good. Genoa is a prosperous city and has a nice seaside setting  in some parts, but pretty industrial port type in other areas. Not one of the major  tourist destinations, but I wouldn't call it boring. I'm from New York and it reminded a little of home.

  2. of course

i was born in italia and im 100% italian !

    http://www.destination360.com/europe/ita...

thts a pretty good website but..

if your in high school watch out for some italian boys.

most are vry dreamy and romantic, but they can pick out american girls and tend to be perverted towards them because they know that the girl won't know what to do.

    other than that it's beautiful!

have a wnderful time, and if you meet anyone by the name of Giovanni Bonofede tell him hi from Isabella ;)

  3. its boring place i would advice dt go there.it's waste of time and money.

  4. I agree with Rahul, it's quite boring, dismal, not at all what you expect of "Italy"... the harbor is historical but it's not very interesting.  The food we had was decent but kind of expensive.  The shopping should be pretty good because it's a very residential city with a lot of business.

If I were you, I'd take the train across the border to France one of the days you're there, it's close by and the culture/atmosphere is much sunnier.  I like Nice, but the entire French Riviera is beautiful.
