Have any one been to Nicaragua hows it like, the places the people the food.

I'm leaving for Nicaragua this Tuesday its my seventh time there in the last two years. I love it!!! the people are the greatest thing about Nicaragua, the women greet you with kisses the men call you brother. family and friends are foremost

They no how to party!! Ive been to more Birthday parties and weddings in the past two years than the previous 36. I feel more at home when I'm in Nicaragua.

Granada is home base when I'm in Nicaragua, If you visit Granada make sure to have dinner at Nuestra casa bar,great food! after dinner check out Cafe Nuit its a Salsa bar, great music very laid back.

Isla DE Ometepe is my favorite place in Nicaragua, its an island that is made up of two volcanoes. The island is just now starting to gear itself for tourism, go now before its to late.  It is the most amazing place Ive ever seen.

Not really and it's a pity that the only people from Nicaragua I've met are living in the US and vowed never to return to Nicaragua due to the terrible governments they had there in the 80's. I've heard it's a nice country!

Nicaragua is one of the best places you can visit. They have nice people good food and fun places to party or swim. It's a Tropical place so it's very Hot people but you have the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean and there's the Lakes which are  the Biggest in Central America to relax you and have a good time i think it's a very nice place to be

I live here and it is wonderful. Although the only way to get in is through the capital, Managua, many people leave here and visit other cities. Managua is a city you have to grow to love, there are no street signs here so its hard for tourists to navigate through it but there are many interesting places to visit here. Some of the more popular cities to visit are Granada, Leon, San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Bluefields and Esteli. The most popular islands are Ometepe and the Solentiname islands in Lake Nicaragua which is a massive freshwater lake, the biggest in Central America and 2nd biggest in Latin America.http://www.vianica.com/visit/ometepe A very very popular island is Corn Island in the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, there are two, little Corn Island and Big Corn island, they have beautiful white soft sand and have crystal blue water and white water with dark blue water spots. The food is good, but i've eaten it all my life, other people have different likes and tastes. The majority of tourists i've met here have told me they enjoy Gallopinto the most, followed by Nacatamales, Baho, and then vigoron or fritanga. The majority of people here are friendly and hospitable but it all depends on the person. I went in September of last year for about a week. I had a great time but I was with somebody who had been living there for two years. If I wasn't with him it would have been very hard to get around because not many know English.  We stayed in Managua the first couple nights which is a very dirty city and lots of crime.  We then went to one of the most beautiful lakes, Laguna Apoyo for 3 nights.  The hostels on the lake were amazing, and very accomodating.  The lady who owned it was from the US and everything you wanted was calculated and not billed until the end of the trip.  We then went to Granada for a night which was a little cleaner than Managua but you have to remember it is a 3rd world country.  

The Food was Beans and Rice in most places. Be very careful of what you eat there, stomach virus' are common.  You can find better food, but we chose to eat the local food.
