Has anyone been to Paradise Island in the Bahamas?

We have booked a 2 week holiday in December this year and will be staying at the Comfort Suites (not Atlantis as too expensive). We have been on Trip Advisor and most feedback suggests it is a very expensive place in general. We are on a budget so can anyone tell us where are the best places are to eat (fast food excluded) and whether there are any convenience/grocery/supermarkets stores nearby. Any tips/feedback on keeping to a budget based on your own personal stay would be most welcome.

  1. there is a place called fish fry and another place called p**p deck both in nassau ..island food pretty good

  2. i'm going on monday and staying at the comfort suites. you get free access to atlantis if you stay there. email me and i'll let you know how it goes. i'll be back on the 25th

  3. I stayed there with my family back in April. The hotel is super nice. THe best thing is that you can use the pools at the Atlantis. Everything is very expensive so pack lots of snacks and take a taxi or bus out of the island ( Araway Cay, Potters Cay, Outback, and several other restaurants.) Cabbage Beach is a great beach in Paradise Island too so check it out.  Have fun.

  4. Check out Arawak Cay for inexpensive places to eat. It's a group of restaurants the locals call Fish Fry. On West Bay Street in Nassau.

Snacks are expensive in the Bahamas. Pack a suitcase full of your favorite snacks and bring with you. You can save a ton of money being on a budget.

Check with your hotel where the closest City Market is located for liquor, beer, soft drinks, lunch items etc.

    Good Luck.)
