  1. ive never been to chiclayo but the weather will be fine in august. it is the dry season and should be pretty warm in the 20s Why are you going to chiclayo?

  2. Been there on my way to Punta Sal in Tumbes. The city itself is not the best in the region, I would recommedn Trujillo before Chiclayo. Nevertheless, Chiclayo is close to Lambayeque city were the museum of the Royal Tombs of Sipan is located. This is, in my opinion, the best museum in Peru. The weather should be mild with some sun, but you could also get fog, which is normal this time of year. If you head further North to Catacaos, Mancora or Punta Sal, you get into the equatorial part of Peru and much warmer weather.

  3. it´s the start of summer, or the dry season. it´ll be fine. I´m a few hours away from there right now. and it´s cold, but it´s starting to warm up, so I´m sure Chiclayo will be too. isn´t that in La Libertad?

  4. Chiclayo is in the northern coast of Peru, it's the capital Lambayeque. In there you'll the the famous Senor de Sipan tomb.

August in the southern hemisphere is winter, not summer. Chiclayo (as well as the rest of Peru) is in the middle of winter right now although it's quite a mild one this year from what my friends tell me.

The normal temp. in Chiclayo right now is between 16 and 21 degrees C. It does not rain as Chiclayo is on the coast and it's a semi desert. There is no rainny or dry seasons on the coast, only on the hihglands and in the jungle.

Check www.promperu.com for more info on what to do and see in Chiclayo. By the way, you must try "arroz con pato" (rice with duck) as it's a famous dish in Chiclayo.

  5. For future reference, use the website www.weatherbase.com.  It will give you a really good idea of the weather in any major city in the world.

  6. It's really hot and dry. Since it's in the northern part of Peru.
