Has anyone been to South of the Border(nc, sc border)?if so what is it like?

I remember that from driving as a kid.  It was kinda cool but tacky.  Nothing can every be as good as a kid's anticipation building up for what, 500 miles!!??  It is worth a stop though!

Its great,my second favorite place to be,try beaufort s.c.,beautiful,low crime,good fishing,boating and friendly people

Worth a look see and buy a few cheezy trinkets to take home. Also, get a few pictures. DON'T eat there. the food is terrible at the restaurants. I had to sen a BLT back 3 times before I got bacon that was even hot in the middle and my hubby got sick from nachos at another snack place. Hotels are pretty tacky, too.

So I guess stop a few hours and then keep driving to wherever your headed.
