If so, what was the journey like? Did you book the whole holiday with the ferry company or just use the ferry for crossing?

  1. Only been on a summer minicruise, two days/nights on board

ship, and two hours in Santander. The autumn/winter one gives you longer. The crossing takes about 24 hours. I enjoyed it, and found it relaxing, but it can get rough in the Bay of Biscay. Hubby is not a good sailor, and suffered. There are good facilities on the ferry. We didn't take the car, and the Santander ferry terminal is in the middle of town, although you have to walk over a railway line.

  2. booked ferry for a three day trip only had six hours in santander, done it once never again, went by plane from Liverpool two night b&b only cost £60 total

  3. Used the ferry and i spent more on it than i would on a flight. It is

    boring,All drink and eat.

  4. I have. It was a very long crossing. We booked a cabin, but it was so small, hot & noisy I couldn't use it and sat in the chair on deck all night.

It was just the ferry crossing, own arrangements in Spain, and I'd never do it again.

  5. Just the crossing. Done it a few times, once in a force 8 gale - exhilarating.

Negative comments only come from those who do not like boats. I can be rough and if you can't take a full English

breakfast in a storm, don't travel in winter.

The trip is not slow by boat standards, it takes a day by car too. Personally I found the trip boring. Take a good book.

Another point. Do you know where Plymouth is? It takes a day to get there from anywhere!

  6. Yes Ive used that crossing many times, I live in Southern Spain and have a dog, so I usually drive to and fro! The ferry is fine, it can sometimes get a little rough as you round the bay of Biscay, but you should enjoy the experience! Have a good time!!

  7. I made the crossing on The Pride of Bilbao, I found some of the other passengers very friendly otherwise big thumbs down, I'd rather walk to Spain, honestly
